PURPOSE:To realize a complicated contour compensation with a simple-structure circuit consisting of a unit of the operational amplifier, by making use of the fact that the amprification factor of the operational amplifier differs by application of the signal to the positive terminal and the negative terminal respectively. CONSTITUTION:The picture signal (b) is applied to the nonreverse input terminal of the IC-formed operational amplifier 6, and the picture signals (a) and (c) are applied to the reverse input terminal via the resistances R1 and R2 each. At the same time, the reverse input terminal is connected to the output terminal of the amplifier 6 via the variable resistor R3. And the signal (b) applied to the nonreverse input terminal is turned into the picture signal Ut to receive a contour compensation; and the signals (a) and (c) are turned into the signal Ut+ or -nlambda (n: integer and lambda: fixed time difference) which has a certain phase difference to the signal (b) each. Then the picture signal supplied from the resistor R3 is applied to the signals (a) and (c) which are to be applied to the nonreverse input terminal of the amplifier 6, and the output signal VO(g) of the amplifier 6 is set to the value similar to that of the equation (1). Thus a complicated contour compensation is possible by just one unit of the amplifier 6.
