Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the flame-retardancy of a phenolic resin laminated board keeping its electrical insulation resistance, impact strength, etc., by laminating resin-impregnated substrates obtained by impregnating a specific flame-retardant phenolic resin to substrates for laminated board, and integrating the substrates with heat and pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A flame-retardant phenolic resin is prepared by (1) reacting p-isopropenylphenol (oligomer) (mixture) with an aldehyde, (2) reacting the product with phosphoric acid monochloridate, and (3) further reacting the reaction product with a phenol and an aldehyde. The flame-retardant resin is impregnated in a substrate for laminated board, and dried to obtain a resin-impregnated substrate. A desired number of the resin-impregnated substrates are stacked, a copper foil is placed to at least one surface of the stack, and the whole assembly is integrated by hot-pressing to obtain the objective flame-retardant phenolic resin laminated board.
