Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a laminated sheet having excellent heat resistance, electrical insulating properties and punchability, by laminating and molding prepregs obtd. by impregnating a cellulose fiber base material with an epoxy resin compsn. contg. a specified novolak type resin as a hardener.
CONSTITUTION: A cellulose fiber base material is impregnated with an epoxy resin compsn. contg. a p-sec-butylphenol-phenolic novolak as a hardener, and dried to obtain a prepreg. The resulting prepregs are laminated to each other. The p-secbutylphenol-phenolic novolak is easily commercially available as a raw material for insulating paints. It is preferred to use a novolak resin having a m.p. of 50W 150°C and contg. unreacted butylphenol and phenol components in an amount of 1wt% or less. Pref. the novolak resin in an amount of 0.5W50wt% is added to the epoxy resin for conventional laminated sheets.
