Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform diffusion joining effectively and surely by brazing butt surfaces in a vacuum, pressure-welding the same under gaseous pressure and heating the same thereby diffusion joining these surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: A valve head part 1 and a valve stem part 3 are brazed in a vacuum at butt surfaces 2. The butt surfaces 2 are brazed one round along the outside circumference thereof, whereby an integrated valve 5 which is perfectly sealed from the atmospheric air and of which the butt surfaces 2 are in a vacuum state is obtained. This valve 5 is heated and pressed by a hot hydrostatic pressing device 10, whereby the butt surfaces 2 are diffusion-joined. Since the outside circumference of the butt surfaces 2 is perfectly sealed from the atmospheric air, an Argon gas which is a pressure medium acts in the direction of pressure-welding the butt surfaces 2 without infiltering into the butt surfaces 2, and further the butt surfaces are heated to a diffusion joining temp. by heating elements 12, whereby they are diffusion-joined.
