Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a very good picture quality, by determing densities of horizontal and vertical four picture elements, which are adjacent to the center picture element, by the sum of two picture element densities out of four input picture elements and by determining densities of four oblique picture elements by corresponding a picture element of four corners. CONSTITUTION:Picture information signal D0 is taken into shift register 30 and buffer register 31 successively by the clock signal which is not shown in the figure, and the processing for the first four picture elements on the 1st - the 4th scanning lines is started. In this case, rest picture element information on respective scanning lines in registers 31a-31c of register 31 are set to the counter of ROM32 at the next timing, and measured value nB is designated to ROM33. ROM33 outputs picture elements O2, O4, O6 and O8 according to prescribed algorithm and priority; and if the black picture element is included in respective picture elements, the count value in ROM32 is counted down by count signal nC. After ROM33 transmits four outputs, count value nB is transferred to ROM34, and ROM34 outputs picture elements O1, O3, O7 and O9. As a result, a very good picture quality is obtained.
