Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the sensitivity of the picture measuring device of the mobile object by shifting the picture signals detected by the photo elements which are arranged into m-row/n-column two-dimensional formation via the vertical and horizontal analog shift registers.
CONSTITUTION: The electric charge generated at photo element 10 (m, 1) is transferred to vertical transfer analog shift register 11 (1) by the action of photo gate clock ϕp. This charge is then shifted to the 1-line higher line by the action of vertical transfer clocks ϕv1 and ϕv2. In this case, if the charge is transferred to the vertical transfer shift register through the action of ϕp, the charge generated to the same picture element is added to the shift register. This action is repeated every time until the picture element comes to photo element 10 (1, 1). Thus integrated charge is transferred to horizontal analog shift register 8 and then shifted toward arrow mark 9 to obtain picture signal V-OUT. In this way, the picture of the mobile object can be detected with a high sensitivity.
