Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily measure density without providing a bypass pipeline, by providing a curved-surface container on a part of dirty mud carrying pipeline and closing the container tightly by a rotary operating valve. CONSTITUTION:A hemispherical curved-surface container 4 is attached onto a dirty mud conveying pipeline 1, an operating valve 7 which is supported in free-to-rotate position by a shaft 13 is provided on the container 4, and make it possible to apply pressure to the inside by using a movable membrane 6 consisting of an elastic body. The center section of the container 4 is provided with a supersonic wave transmitter & receiver 11. In this constitution, when dirty mud flows into the container 4, it is tightly closed by turning of the valve 7, compressed air is pressed in from an air intake 10 to deform the membrane 6, and dirty mud is pressed to dissolve foams, etc. in the liquid. And density is meausred by transmitting supersonic wave and receiving reflecting wave corresponding the density through a reflecting surface 8. It is possible, by using this mechanism, to easily conduct measurement without providing a bypass pipeline.
