Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the deposit resistant property, consuming resistance, and arc interrupting performance of contact material obtained by adding specific amounts of ZnO, Li2O, and Ni to a silver base material.
CONSTITUTION: The contact material consists of silver base material to which are added 1W7wt% (as Zn) ZnO, 0.2W1.5wt% (as Li) Li2O, and 0.1W1.0wt% Ni. The alloy is further subjected to an internal oxidation treatment to selectively oxidize Zn and Li in order to obtain the contact material.
