Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to control the exhaust gas recirculation upon idling by a method wherein the negative pressure of a suction pipe generated by the operation of a suction device is utilized as the power source of the control for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) upon idling.
CONSTITUTION: An EGR valve 43 is provided in an EGR device between an extracting pipe 41, connected to an exhaust pipe 3, and a return pipe 42, connected to the suction pipe 2. The EGR device is constituted so that a needle valve 47 is lifted to communicates the extracting pipe 41 and the return pipe 42 when the negative pressure, accumulated in a vacuum tank 8 as a pressure source, is introduced into a diaphragm chamber 44 thereof through a delay valve 45 and a control valve 46. According to this constitution, the variation of the amount of the lift of the needle valve 47 becomes substantially zero and a pressure difference between the suction and the exhaust becomes substantially constant, therefore, the amount of the EGR may be stabilized.
