Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve connection at the time of gear change and accomplish smooth and safe operation by the structure wherein a switching valve which can be connected to the atmosphere is provided in a path connecting the negative pressure chamber of an auxiliary air supply valve and a suction manifold, and an air/fuel ratio detector is provided inside an exhaust pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Oxygen concentration detector 8 is placed inside exhaust pipe 7 and its output side is connected to one input of comparator 22. The output side of comparator 22 is connected to the solenoid of electromagnetic switching valve 21 via amplifier 24. When the output voltage of detector 8 is lower than reference voltage 23, the solenoid of switching valve 21 is deenergized, and negative pressure chamber 11 of auxiliary air supply control valve device 9 is connected to the inside of suction manifold 2. On the other hand, when the output voltage of detector 8 is higher than reference voltage 23, the solenoid of switching valve 21 is energized, and negative pressure chamber 11 is connected to the atmosphere. By this, the supply of supplementary air to suction manifold 2 is prevented while a high concentration air-fuel mixture is being supplied.
