Abstract
PURPOSE:To elevate cooling efficiency of the toroidal coil by a method wherein a cooling liquid is made to flow in the opposite direction at every neighboring layers of paths of the cooling liquid being provided on the outside of a circular vacuum vessel. CONSTITUTION:The paths of cooling liquid 11 are provided on the outside of the annular vacuum vessel, and coil conductors 10 are wound around forming plural layers to form the toroidal coil. The cooling liquid is made to flow in the opposite direction in every neighboring layers of each conductor 10 of multilayer conductors to make the temperature distribution of conductors to be symmetrical reducing the highest temperature in insulating materials 9. Accordingly, cooling efficiency can be elevated.
