Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the supply accuracy of molten metal from a furnace into a mold by providing a float which detects level fluctuations on the pool surface of molten metal, and so controlling the tilting of the furnace as to maintain the level of the molten metal in a spout constant.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of supplying molten metal 11 from a furnace 1 to a spout 2, an ingate 3 is provided to throttle molten metal 11, whereby a pool is made and a level difference is produced. A distributor plate 5 is provided to attenuate the vibrations of the molten metal 11 surface. The level of the molten metal 11 in the spout 2 detected with a float 4 is detected by a level transmission means 6, and is transmitted to a micro indicator 7 with electric contacts. Here, the level is converted to an electric signal which is next transmitted to a sequence 8 for tilting signal conversion. This signal is converted to a furnace tilting signal and is transmitted to a solenoid valve 9 and a furnace tilting cylinder 10 which are tilting means for the furnace 1, so that they operate as to tilt the furnace 1 according to the tilting signal.
