Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A mono- or disalt of 7-keto and 7-hydroxycholesterolphosphoric ester expressed by formula I (R is =O or -OH; X1 and X2 are H or physiologically acceptable cation capable of imparting the water solubility; at least one of X1 and X2 is the cation described above).
EXAMPLE: Disodium salt of 7-ketocholesterolphosphoric ester.
USE: Improved effects on immunosuppressive action, particularly cellular immunosuppressive action and anti-inflammatory action with improved water solubility, and very useful as a medicine.
PROCESS: 7-Ketocholesterol is phosphorylated with a phosphorylating agent containing chlorine, e.g. tetrachloropyrophosphoric acid, to give a chlorophosphate which is a reaction intermediate. The chlorophosphate is then converted into a mono- or disalt by the well-known method to afford the compound of formula II.
