Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnet with any desired magnetic flux density distribution pattern such as M-shaped or convexed-shaped one on the magnetic pole, by selecting the configuration of the surface which face the magnetizing surface of a yoke for a magnetizing coil. CONSTITUTION:The face of a yoke 3 of a magnetizing coil 2 that faces the material to be magnetized is so formed that the outer circuit portion attaches to the material closely with a concave part at the center resulting in higher magnetic resistance. With such an arrangement the magnetic flux density distribution shows a M-shape pattern. When it is formed with a convexity at the center and much gaps on the outer circuit portion, the distribution shows a convex pattern. When a yoke 3 is used whose diameter is smaller than that of the material 1 and the whole face of the yoke is attached closely to the material, a reverse-polar magnetization can be performed on the outer circuit portion. With such an arrangement, a magnet with any desired magnetic flux density distribution pattern can easily be obtained, for an effective usage for the magnetic bearings.
