Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce machine constituting parts of intricate shapes through powder press molding by adding thermoplastic materials and molding assistants to metal powder, injection molding the mixture, dewaxing and sintering the molding then subjecting the molding to hot hydrostatic pressing.
CONSTITUTION: Various kinds of metal powder are used for raw material metallic powder and the powder of about 2W10μ average sizes are used. Thermoplastic resin materials such as, for example, paraffin wax, are used for the binder, and for example, ethylene acrylate, lubricants and polyethylene are used for the molding assistants. This mixture is injection molded under about up to 200kg/cm2. The molding is heated under about 10W50kg/cm2 gaseous pressures, whereby it is dewaxed to about ≤20% porosities. Thence, the molding is sintered in a vacuum or the like, whereby a sintered product of about 92W95% density ratios is obtained. Gaseous pressure is acted upon the surface of the sintered product under high temp. by hot hydrostatic press treatment, whereby the pores remained in the sintered product are compressively stuck, and the parts having nearly true density are obtained.
