Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize picture forming operation by preventing the surface of a photoreceptor and a high-voltage generator from breaking down, by providing a limiter circuit which operates at a voltage lower than the operating voltage of a breaker circuit in the high-voltage generator. CONSTITUTION:Surface electrometer 11 for photoreceptor 1 measures a light part potential and dark part potential and a signal after amplification 12 is A/D-converted 13 and supplied to computer 14. Computer 4 performs the arithmetic of output values of primary charger 2 and secondary charger 3 for destaticization and the bias value of developing roller 5. This arithmetic output is converted into analog signals by D/A converter 15 and integrating circuits 16, 19 and 24 and they are supplied to driving circuits 17 and 20 and high-voltage transformer 25 for a developing bias. The outputs of circuits 17 and 20 are supplied to primary and secondary high voltage generators 18 and 21 for the chargers. Circuits 17 and 20 are applied with input voltage via limiters 22 and 23 and when the input voltages exceed prescribed values, breaker circuits in generators 18 and 21 are put into operation.
