Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent coming-off of fibers at a cut surface and to form a beautiful cut surfae, by a method wherein woody fibers are inserted between male and female molds formed in desired convex and concave shapes, are compressed by heat, and simultaneously, are cut by a cutter secured on the mold.
CONSTITUTION: Woody fibers are dispersed in a large amount of water, and after the woody fibers are formed into a mat shape by means of a paper making machine, such as round net system wet type paper making machine and other type paper making machines, the woody fibers are dried in a drier having an ambient temperature of 120W200°C to obtain a woody fiber plate (a). A device, in which male and female molds 3 and 4 made of iron, having convex and concave molding surfaces 3a and 4a, are installed monolithically on surfaces, being positioned facing and opposite to each other, of a pair of upper and lower heating plates 1 and 2, and a cutter 5 is projectedly attached, is used as a heat compression molder. The woody fiber plate (a) is inserted between the male and female molds 3 and 4, the plate is molded by heating through the heating plates 1 and 2 under conditions of 150W270°C and 10W70kg/cm2, and simultaneously, the plate is cut into a given shape by means of a cutter 5.
