Abstract

PURPOSE:To obviate the entry of electrical noise from the outside and prevent erroneous detection and nondetection by converting mechanical vibrations immediately to light. CONSTITUTION:A vibration sensing part 1 consists of a piezoelectric element 2, a light emitting element, for example, a light emitting diode 3, an optical connector 4 and a Zener diode 5. Both surfaces A, B of the element 2 are coupled to a vibrating body by way of an element transmitting vibrations. When mechanical vibrations (a), (b) are applied between both surfaces A and B, the electrical output thereof is immediately converted to the intensity of light by the light emitting diode 3. The detection signal converted to light by the light emitting diode 3 is coupled to an optical fiber 6 by the optical connector 4 and is sent to a signal conversion part 7.
