Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable one optical heterodyne detector to receive light signal of various frequencies from numbers of optical transmitters, by using optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:The light emission end parts of optical fibers 11, 12 and 13 are bundled by a fixture 16, and a fiber fixing tool 14 is used to arrange a photodetecting element 15 opposite to the light emission end parts. Then, the photodetecting elements extracts all best signals. When reference light of frequency omega0 is sent through the optical fiber and light signals of frequencies omega1 and omega2 are sent through the optical fibers 12 and 13, an optical heterodyne detector detects a DC component and components having frequencies¦omega1-omega2¦,¦omega0-omega1¦, and¦omega0-omega2¦through the photodetecting elements 15, and filters extract signals having components¦omega0-omega1¦and¦omega0-omega2¦.
