Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the leakage of cooling water by comparing the amount of water supplied to the tuyere with the amount of water exhausted therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A measured value of the amount of the supplied water and the amount of the exhaust water from and to the tuyeres 1a-1n and a measured value of the temp. of the exhaust water common to all tuyeres are inputted to a judgement device 6. The judgement device 6 carries out temp. compensation of the amount of the exhaust water from each tuyere to calculate the exact difference between the amount of exhaust water and the supplied water and, when said difference exceeds a set value, occurrence of leakage is judged and an alarm is given. Moreover, in order to enhance accuracy, an apparatus 7 for correcting the instrumental error is provided, for example, when a new tuyere is installed, the difference of the measured value of the supplied water amount and of the exhaust water amount is calculated. This difference must be zero intrinsically but, when it is other than zero, it is remembered as an instrumental error, and inputted to the judgement device 6 and the leakage is judged by said judgement device 6 basing on the difference of the amount of the flow obtained after applying the correction for the temp. and the instrumental error.
