Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption in a system having a plurality of induction motors connected with an intermittent load, by providing a small capacity induction motor which drives all the induction motors at a nonload speed, and cutting off the power source to each induction motor at the time the load is not applied. CONSTITUTION:One driving system is composed by the intermittent load 10 and the induction motor 20 for driving the load, and a plurality of such systems are provided. The intermittent load 10 comprises, e.g. a hydraulic pump P and a hydraulic machine M, and repeats the intermittent operation on receiving the actuating command St and the stop command Sp. The induction motors 20, 21, and 22 are connected to transmission gear units 30, 31, and 32 by shafts, and said transmission gear units are connected to a transmission shaft 40, thereby constituting a transmission system 50, which is in turn connected to the small capacity motor 70. When the intermittent load 10 enters the stationary cycle, a switch 60 is opened and the motor 20 is cut out from the power source, but the motor is rotated by the motor 70 at the same speed as the motors 21 and 22.
