Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately adjust the engaging speed of the clutch in response to the running conditions of a vehicle, by controlling the air which is exhausted from an atmospheric chamber of a negative pressure actuator in response to the amount of pressing an accelerating pedal.
CONSTITUTION: In the case the vehicle is started from the stop position, since the amount of pressing the accelerating pedal 60 is small, a control valve 50 is closed. Since the speed is slower than a specified speed, an electromagnetic switching valve 70 is also closed. Therefore, a piston 82 of the actuator 8 is controlled only by a two-motion valve 86 and an orifice 21, the engagement of the clutch 2 is accomplished slowly. When the gears are shifted to the high speed during the vehicle is running at a high speed which is higher than a specified speed, since the amount of pressing the pedal 60 is more than the specified value, the valves 50 and 70 are opened.
