Abstract

PURPOSE:To assure a precise action when either one of the clutches is connected by providing a means to ensure that the speed change gear on the input shaft on the side of the connected clutch is held in the position in which it is. CONSTITUTION:If a current is given to an electromagnetic valve 38 at an appropriate speed while running at the second speed, said valve opens so that pressure is supplied from a line 34 to a line 37 and this pressure is delivered to a pressure chamber 32g of a valve 32 via ports 35c, 35e of a valve 35. As a result a plunger 32b of a valve 32 is moved to right so that the port 32c is connected to port 32c and a speed change cylinder 20 moves in the reverse direction and the third speed gear is engaged with the first input shaft. Since the pressure in the port 32e is also delivered to the pressure chamber 32g via an orifice 49, the position of the valve 32 is held where it is even after the port 35e of the valve 35 is shut off from the port 35c so that in this state the second clutch is disconnected at an appropriate speed.
