Abstract
PURPOSE: To offer a reagent for biological treatment of a sewage which is composed of grains good of fluidity and hardly collapsible in water, by using foamed plastics flakes as nucleus, and making grains of soil on the nucleus.
CONSTITUTION: An objective sewage treating reagent is prepared, by using as nucleus foamed plastics flakes whose apparent specific gravity is small, and coating the nucleus with soil layers. Making grains is done by wetting 1W15pts.wt. of foamed plastics flakes with a water solution containing 3W10% of a water soluble high molecular substance, adding pulverized soil 99W85pts.wt. to the wetted foamed plastics flakes 1W15pts.wt. which are used as the nucleus, and blending the mixture with the gradual and additional water charge. After granulated, the grains are dried at a temperature of 50W120°C. The grain product is hardly collapsible in water and good of fluidity. The foamed plastics to be used is polystyrene, PVC, etc. The granular reagent has real specific gravity 0.80W2.0g/cc, preferably 0.95W 1.5g/cc. The pulverized soil to be used in 500μ or less in grain sizes.
