Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a granular composition having high deodorizing property, high sterilizing property, and high gas adsorptivity without the use of binder by stirring and kneading a vegetable humus mud whose moisture content is regulated to within a given range.
CONSTITUTION: The moisture content of a vegetable fermented substance, or humus mud, which has long been deposited on the sea bed, the bottom of lake, etc., is adjusted to 60W80%. Then, the humus mud thus adjusted is subjected to a treatment involving mixing, kneading, shearing, turning, etc., by rotary blades in the cylindrical granulator of a so-called fluidized mixing type granulator of an atmosphere with a humidity of 60% or more, where the humus mud is changed from slightly wetted state to puddling state and then to well-grained granules by further mixing and stirring. Then, the granulated humus mud is dried in a hot air dryer to obtain a product. In this case, when the granulated humus mud is dried to approx. 15% moisture content, granules having highest hardness can be obtained.
