Abstract

PURPOSE: To select adsorption time according to the moisture contents of the air at the inlets of adsorption towers, and optimize the heating at the regeneration according to seasonal variations in a two-tower type apparatus for regeneration by heating and dehumidification by adsorption which is used for dehumidifying and drying of compressed air and supplies dry air of low dew points.
CONSTITUTION: Thermocouples 9, 9' are provided in the lower part of adsorption towers I, I', and thermocouples 10, 10' in the upper part. The electric signals outputted by the thermocouples are inputted into an amplifier 11 and are thereby amplified. A computation control part 12 makes computation based on the input electric signals, and sends control signals to an output part 13. Solenoid valves 14W 17 are connected to an air supply pipe A. A change-over valve 4 or 7' is opened or closed by opening or closing these valves, and the temperatures of the air near the inlets of the adsorption towers are measured with the thermocouples 9, 9', 10, 10', and are sent to the computation control part 12, thus, the forecasting calculation of tower inlet moisture contact and break-through time is made and the end time of the adsorption process is determined, thence the opening and closing of the change-over valve 4, 4', ..., ..., 7, 7' are controlled via the solenoid valves, so the air flow is changed and both processes of adsorption and regeneration are changed over.
