Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize stable oscillation operation by eliminating the need to provide externally a special reference voltage, by exercising control over a comparator circuit only by the output of a Schmitt circuit. CONSTITUTION:While capacitor 19 is charged by the collector current of transistor 17, the output voltage of Schmitt circuit 20 is held at the OFF level. Once the discharging voltage reaches the high inversion voltage of the Schmitt circuit, the output is inverted to turn ON transistor 9 between transistors 8 and 9 constituting a comparator. Then, the discharge of capacitor 19 starts and at the point in time when its across voltage reaches the lower inversion level of Schmitt circuit 20, the Schmitt circuit is placed in its original state. This operation is repeated to continue oscillation.
