Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of treatment by removing interfering substaces for ozone sterilization by the procedure in which a gas is passed into water to be treated to form bubbles and then suspended substances in the water are separated and removed with the bubbles, and then the water is passed through an ozone sterilizer.
CONSTITUTION: The secondary sewage treated water is sent into the bubble separation tank 2 into which air containing unreacted ozone, discharged from the reacting tank 3, and air from the outside are blown through the diffuser pipe 7 by the blower 8. Bubbling occurs when the air is blown into the water bacause of the presence of ABS in the water to be treated and the suspended substances in the water are removed with bubbles and also floating substances at the scum 11 are discharged from a scum discharge port to the outside 2. The unreacted ozone in the reacting tank 3 is utilized in the tank 2, so that the utilization rate of ozone is raised. The water deprived of suspended substances is sterilized by ozone in the reacting tank 3 effectively because of lesser amount of interfering substances present in the water. The treated water is treated in the stagnating tank 4 to decompose residual ozone and then discharged.
