Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the cable of superior transmission characteristics by cutting a slit in the axial direction to the side wall of the cavity provided in the axial direction of a strip-form body composed of plastic material buried with high-tensile-strength wire and inserting an optical fiber cord into the cavity.
CONSTITUTION: A subsidiary wire 1 is beforehand buried in an extrusion molding 4. The extrusion molding 4 has a cavity part 41 and a slit 42 and an optical fiber cord 5 is inserted in the cavity 41 by opening the slit 42. Such constitution obviates the remaining of stress in the optical fiber, hence waving and bending may be prevented and there is no likelihood for degradation of transmission characteristics. Further, the optical fiber cord 5 may be taken out from the slit 42 and therefore the separation from the subsidiary wire 1 is extremely easy and work becomes easy as well.
