Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a fluorescent lamp from being contaminated by mercury by inserting an inner tube made of ultraviolet transparent glass inside which an infrared antireflection film is coated, between the glass tube and the electrode.
CONSTITUTION: The inner tube 10 consisting of ultraviolet transparent glass inside which the infrared antireflection film 11 is coated in a space between the glass tube 1 and the electrode 5. For example, the phosphor 2 is coated on the inside of the 40W glass tube 1 and the mount in which the filament 5 is pinched to the lead-in wire 4 imbedded in the glass stem 3 is sealed to both ends of the glass tube 1. The inner tube 10 consisting of ultraviolet transparent glass is arranged between the glass tube 1 and the filament 5 and the infrared antireflection film 10 such as indium oxide is coated on the inside. Then a fixed amount of mercury and inert gas is sealed in the discharge space 7 and a rapid start type fluorescent lamp is created by applying the Nesa film 8.
