PURPOSE:The fused flux for submerged arc welding of improved removability of slag in particular which comprises containing MgO, CaO, CaF2, Al2O3, TiO2 and SiO2 respectively at the specified ratios. CONSTITUTION:The fused flux containing respectively slag removability improving component MgO; 6-15wt%, composition for enhancing the basicity of the flux CaO; 6-16wt%, control component for solidifying temperature and viscosity of the flux Al2O3; 15-28wt% as well as TiO2; 18-28wt% and slag basicity control component SiO2; 7-25wt%. The one of the grain size constitution in which the one of grain size 840mu or more is 5% or less of the entire part and the one of grain size 420mu or less occupies 50% or more is best suited for this flux. If necessary, about 0.1-1.0wt% of B2O3 may be contained in this flux in order to enhance the low temperature toughness of the molten metal additionally.
