Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the errosion loss of an immersion nozzle by containing a specific amount of zirconia into an additive for steady casting consisting of a flux base material and a meltable control material. CONSTITUTION:To a mold additive for continuous casting consisting of a flux base material consisting of metal oxides such as SiO2, CaO, Al2O3, MgO, MnO or the like and a molten control material consisting of metal oxides such as Na2O, K2O, Li2O, B2O3 or the like, metal fluorides such as CaF2, AlF3, NaF, or the like and cabon powder is added 0.5-15wt% zirconia. If the zirconic is added at >=15wt%, the zirconia is deposited in molten slag and therefore, it is added at <=15wt%.
