Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent molten metal from depositing and gathering on the plunger rod when injecting, by providing a specified groove, or a plurality of supply-discharge holes, in one of cylinder with supply-discharge hole or plunger tip, of the captioned injection pump for molten metal of Al, Zn alloy or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder 31 housed in said injection pump main body 9 is provided with a supply-discharge hole 32 in the radial direction to supply molten metal 13 of Al or the like therein. For example, a groove 33 penetrating thereto is provided in the inner circumference of the cylinder, and the area of the groove 33 permitting the molten metal 13 to flow into the direction of the supply-discharge hole 32 is made larger than the gap area between the cylinder 31 and plunger tip 11. By the initial low speed, and subsequent high speed advancement (in the lower direction of the drawing) of the plunger tip 11, the molten steel 13 is charged to fill up the die cavity which penetrates thereto, and injection completes. At this time, excess molten metal flows back by reaction, but the molten steel is selectively discharged from the supply-discharge hole through the groove 33 owing to said area relation, so that it may not deposit on the plunger rod 10.
