Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a fuel steam from arising in a fuel feed line and circulating line when an engine is at shutdown particularly in high atmospheric temperature by a method wherein a check valve is provided in the fuel feed line and circulating line, and a solenoid operated valve is provided in a line between a differential pressure regulating valve and an injection nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel measured by a fuel controller consisting of an area type air flow meter 1, fuel flow meter 2 and a differential pressure regulating valve 3 is injected into an intake pipe 35 through injection nozzle 21. In a system such constituted, where an engine is at shutdown at high atmospheric temperature, there is generated a fuel steam in fuel feed lines j, g and a circulating line h. Therefore, each line is blocked up at the time of engine shutdown by check valve 32 in a solenoid operated valve 28 and also by check valves 39W41 in the lines j, g, h, and the fuel in the lines blocked up by these check valves is retained at a pressure lower than open valve pressure of the check valves 40, 41 and further in a state near the open valve pressure. Thus the fuel is left compressed to prevent a fuel steam from arising.
