Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the air adjustable for quantity through simple constitution by an arrangement wherein a sliding air valve is provided in a passage bypassing a throttle valve, and a negative pressure fed to a negative pressure chamber of a diaphragm device coupled to said valve is controlled according to an engine operating condition.
CONSTITUTION: Since a sucked negative pressure decreases downstream of a throttle valve 4 at the time of engine acceleration, control negative pressure is introduced to a negative pressure chamber 23 of a diaphragm device 19 from a negative pressure passage 24 through check valve 27, and a diaphragm 22 is shifted leftward. Therefore an air valve 11 is rotated through rod 20, link 21, lever 18 and air valve shaft 14, and an opening working as the air passage coincides with the opening of a valve seat 10 to open a bypass passage 9, thus increasing the air quantity. On the other hand, a sucked negative pressure increases downstream of a throttle valve 14 at the time of engine deceleration, however, the check valve 27 closes, control negative pressure subjected to resistance at an orifice 28 is fed to the negative pressure chamber 23, and thus the air valve 11 is operated to close the passage 9 slowly.
