Abstract

PURPOSE:The means for measuring the weight of sliver based on the feed forward system and drafting device for modifying the weight uneveness of the sliver are provided between the creel and the main drafting device to assure the modification of the weight unevenss in short wave length even under high speeds. CONSTITUTION:The fluctuation in weight per unit length, i.e., the thickness of the sliver is measured with grooved roller 6 provided on the outlet of cans sliver collector 4 and press roller 7 which is fitted in the groove 5. Then, the sliver collected is opened so as to be subjected to appropriate drafting and passed through hill- shaped opener 9 to make the sliver parallel. The sliver is passed through drafting device 12 for modifying the sliver uneveness that is composed of 2 pairs of draft rollers 10 and 11. Back rooler 10 is driven by speed-variable motor M which transmits the displcement of press roller 7 as an electric signal, thus modifying accurately the weight uneveness in sliver in short wave length.
