Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform good development by simultaneously and relatively rotate the non-magnetic and conductive cylinder having an insulation film on the surface and a magnet and letting the conductor disposed in the axial direction of the cylinder contact the one-component type developer being held sucked.
CONSTITUTION: An insulation sleeve 1 is rotated in the arrow y direction and a magnet roll 2 in the arrow x direction. Magnetic toner 3 is conveyed in the arrow y direction. An electrode 6 is provided to form a conductive path between part of the toner 3 on the sleeve 1 and the ground. As a result of this, the magnetic toner charged to positive polarity in a developer pool 5 is removed rapidly from the developer pool 5 and at the same time the charges in the magnetic toner having been charged to positive polarity and being conveyed on the insulation sleeve 1 from the developer pool 5 are grounded and escaped. The magnetic toner supplied to the developer pool 5 becomes always electrically nearly neutral, thus the development of normal electrostatic latent images becomes possible.
