Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate cloth pieces positively every one piece by a mechanism wherein cloth pieces are erected by high pressure gas injecting stream along a guide wall surface of a pickup unit, which is movable fore and aft, while being vibrated and cloth pieces detached by the said method are held by means of a nipping plate.
CONSTITUTION: A lower end of a guide wall surface 3 of a pickup unit 1 is located at one end of the uppermost surface of cloth pieces 2 stacked, high pressure air from an air pipe 6 is jetted from a slitty injection port 5 opening to the guide wall surface 3, and induced air currents P, P' are created. The unit 1 is moved in the arrow head X direction, and the one end side of the cloth piece 2-1 of the uppermost surface is erected along the guide wall surface 3 while vibration is produced and the piece is separated from a cloth piece 2-2 ranking second. A nipping plate 9 is inserted between the cloth piece 2-1 detached and the cloth piece 2-2 with the transfer of the unit 1 while a rod 11 is drawn in by driving a cylinder 10 by means of a cloth piece detecting device 12, and the cloth piece is held by means of the nipping plate 9.
