Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify each structure of carrier recovery and whole apparatus, by making the apparent specific gravity of the carrier sticked activated sludge smaller than the specific gravity of the water to be treated and providing scraping apparatus for exfoliation of the activated sludge of the carrier floating in speration vessel and returning to aeration vessel.
CONSTITUTION: The carrier 2 supplied to the first part 3a of the aeration vessel 3 and the carrier 2 is descended successively and also, catalytic oxidation is carrier out. Floating substance in the water to be treated, is adsorbed by activated sludge accompanied by descent. Then, the carrier 2 sticked and grown the activated sludge on the surface, is pushed out to the second part 3b through the lower part of the first partition wall 8 and is floated by the difference of the specific gravity of the carrier 2 and water to be treated. Moreover, the carrier 2 is overflowed the second partition wall 9 with water stream and is sent to the third part 3c and then, is sent to the separation vessel 4. Next, floating carrier 2 is scraped up by the scraping board 10 attached on the flexible endless turning round belt 11 and the activated sludge is flaked off from the carrier 2 by coworking action of the water stream and then, is precipitated by sedimentation and also, the carrier 2 is returned to the part 3a of the vessel 3 sending in the conduit-shaped flowing passage R2.
