Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a dust collector damage casued by unexpected high temp. by blow-bye of a blast furnace, by, in the blast furnace provided with the dry dust collector, monitoring the furnace top gas temp. and the collector outlet gas temp., and by spraying water at demand in order to cool the exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: Blast furnace top exhaust gas passes through a duct 2 and a diffuser 5 into a dry dust collector, where the coarse grain dust included in the exhuast gas is settled by inertia into a dust hopper. Then the gas undergoes secondary dust- collection while passing through the lower part of a dust collecting tank 8 using granular or lump material such as sand or gravel as the filter medium. Then the exhaust gas further undergoes tertiary dust collection while passing through the intermediate part and the upper part of the dust collector 8 and is discharged through an outlet 13. When blow-bye happens in the blast furnace 1 and the gas temp. rises unusually, the gas temps. are detected by a thermometer 16 for the furnace top exhaust gas and by a thermometer 17 for the exhaust gas of the dust collector 3 so as to operate a water-spray control means 18 in order to cool the exhaust gas by spraying water through a nozzle 20, hereby the dust collector 3 is prevented from being damaged because of high temp.
