Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an explosion accident in the dust collection of a charging cart, by a method wherein abnormality of a device mounted on the coke oven charging cart is detected and a predetermined operation is carried out by the obtained signal.
CONSTITUTION: Coal is charged into a carbonization chamber 24 from a charging cart 23 and a gas injected from a charging port 2 is collected by a smoke collecting hood 3 and treated by a dust collecting installation comprising a combustion apparatus 1, a water scattering apparatus 13, a fan scrubber 17 and an eliminator 19 or the like and, subsequently, discharged to an external large-scale dust collector through a connecting dust 20. When abnormality appears in the above described installation, according to the signal thereof, an inert gas is filled in a gas flow passage of the above described dust collecting installation while a sieve of the smoke collecting duct 3 is closed and, on the other hand, the connection of a fixed duct 21 and the connecting duct 20 is separated. Subsequently, a charging hood in the smoke collecting hood is raised and, after a lid is mounted to the charging port 2 to close the same, the smoke collecting hood 3 is raised to be separated from the carbonization chamber 24.
