PURPOSE:To improve stability to mechanical vibrations of a junction part by converting external variation into a photo signal efficiently by forming a light wave directing path on a substrate and then by providing a body varying in optical characteristics on the light wave directing path. CONSTITUTION:On light wave directing path 8 formed on the surface of glass substrate 7, liquid crystal 9 is arranged which varies in light scattering intensity with a temperature. Incident light 10 led into light wave directing path 8 is scattered by liquid crystal 9 corresponding to a temperature and variation in penetrating light 11 is measured photo detector 12 to detect the temperature of liquid crystal part 9. In this way, the body (liquid crystal 9) varying in optical characteristics to light wave directing path 8 with external variation is arranged on light wave directing path 8, and consequently while the junction area between light wave directing path 8 and liquid crystal 9 is large, the external variation can be converted into a photo signal with efficiency, so that stability of the junction part to mechanical vibrations can improve remarkably.
