Abstract

CONSTITUTION: During the charging of coal into a carbonizing chamber 1A of a coke oven 1 by a charging machine 13, and for a definite time interval (from 20 minutes to 2 hours) after the completion of the charging, a definite amount of fuel gas is introduced from a gas pipe 16 to a collecting main 6 by opening a valve 4 in a bent pipe 2A between an ascention pipe 2 and the collecting main 6, closing a valve 5 in a bent pipe 3A between an ascention pipe 3 and a collecting main 5, and opening a flow control valve 17. After the above time interval, produced coke oven gas is introduced through the ascention pipe 3 to the collecting main 7, by opening the valve 4 and the flow control valve 17, and closing the valve 3.
