Abstract

PURPOSE: To extend the life of a liquid heating apparatus by containing a furnace cylinder and a smoke tub in a boiler drum, providing a smoke chamber, a combustion chamber and a liquid chamber to thereby decrease the combustion gas temperature to the smoke chamber, and preventing the damage thereat due to stress corrosion.
CONSTITUTION: A furnace cylinder 1 and a plurality of smoke tubes 12 are contained in a boiler drum 2 in such a manner that the one ends of the tubes 12 are connected through a bent tube 20 to the peripheral wall of the cylinder 1 to thus communicate with a combustion chamber 21 and the other ends of the tubes 12 are connected to the smoke chamber 15 to thereby form a liquid chamber 19 between the drum 2 and the cylinder 1. The combustion gas makes contact with the furnace bottom 16 to be thus inverted and to be introduced through the tube 20 into the tubes 12 and through the chamber 15 to be exhausted from a flue 8. Since the combustion gas introduced into the chamber 15 is thermally exchanged with the liquid, its temperature is lowered to require no refractory material in the chamber 15. Inasmuch as the furnace bottom 16 is also liquid cooled, the refractory material is not necessary therein. As an axial deformation can be released by the bent tube 20, it can prevent thermal stress thereat.
