Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase treating capabity as well as making operating control easier by peforming all of the nitrifying process, denitrification process, and contact oxidation process of organic polluted water in fixed beds.
CONSTITUTION: Organic polluted water, e.g., household refuge, leachate from wastes dumping site, etc., is supplied from the pipe 15 to the nitrifying tank 10 and then sent to the fixed bed 11 packed with a filler to treat it by nitrifying bacteria growing on the filler. Then, the treated water is introduced through the pipe 19 into the denitrification tank 17 where it is treated by denitrifying bacteria growing on the filler 18 in the same way as before. Then, the treated water is sent to the filler layer 25 of the contact oxidation tank 23 for treatment and a part of the treated water is sent back to the nitrifying tank 10 through the return pump 20 to subject the residual ammonia nitrogen to renitrification treatment.
