Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the composite sintered body for wire drawing dies which is of high strength and does not cause seizure or the like by filling diamond into the holes of the cermet comprising sintering the specific hard compound and the specific metal such as Co and sintering the same under the specific temperature and pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Diamond powder of 10μ or under (e.g. 200 to 400 mesh) is filled in one or a plurality of holes of the cermet alloy comprising sintering the hard compound of the structure of (Mo, W)1CX, 0.8<X<0.98 composed primarily of Mo and the iron group metals composed primarily of Co or Ni and containing the specified amount of Fe. This is then held for 10μ minutes at 1400°C by using a super high-pressure high-temperature apparatus for synthesis of diamond, whereby the crystals of fine (MoW)2C, Mo2C composed primarily of Mo are crystallized between diamond crystal grains, whereby the captioned composite sintered body of high strength and large plastic deformability is obtained.
