Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure generation of only the nonlinear signals through a simple circuit by using the 4-port hybrid in the circuit used for the nonlinear compensation method which performs the distortion offset of the amplifier. CONSTITUTION:Composite port A, in-phase branching port C, 180 deg.-branch port D and isolation port B of 4-port 18 deg.-hybrid 19 are connected to input terminal 11, variable resistor 21 functioning as a linear circuit, nonlinear circuit 22 and output terminal 17 respectively. The AC signals applied to terminal 11 are distributed to port C in the same phase and to port D in the opposite phase, and the signals reflected at these two circuits are delivered from port B to terminal 17. In this case, resistor 21 is adjusted in order to secure a coincidence between the admittance of resistor 21 and the linear admittance of circuit 22. As a result, only the nonlinear distortion component is obtained for the output signal.
