Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable diffusion joining even in super-heat-resistant alloys, by setting a pair of members to be joined butt to butt with a soft metal layer inserted in the middle, rotating one member with respect to the other member, and keeping the heated pressurized state for a specified period of time.
CONSTITUTION: Soft metal layers 3, 3 of thin pieces of Ni, Cr or the like are formed on the surfaces of grooves 2, 2 of members 1, 1 to be joined (super-heat-resistant alloy). With one of the members 1, 1 secured, while rotating the other member at low speed so that the both joining surfaces on one side may be parallel, pressure is applied so that the soft metal layers 3, 3 may contact with each other, and at the same time the joining part is heated to high temperature by the rotary frictional heat.
