Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify a transmitter by eliminating the need to equip a circuit which detects the presence of a signal transmitted to a photo detection side and a light emitting source, by supplying great part of light transmitted by the light emitting source and a transmission line to a photo detecting element by using a focusing lens and reflex mirror at the photo detection side. CONSTITUTION:Light from light emitting element 13 driven by transmitter circuit 12 is led to optical fiber 15 by light mixing branch unit 14 and the light transmitted via fiber 15 is led to two focusing lenses 16 and 17. Here, light axes of those lenses 16 and 17 should agree with that of fiber 15 and reflex mirror 18 is provided between lenses 16 and 17 to supply light focused by lenses 16 and 17 to photo detecting element 22. Denoting the length of lens 16 by (lambda), a relation of (n/2+1/4)lambda [(n); natural number] is born and light transmitted to one end surface of lens 16 is transformed into a parallel beam to enable lens 17 to focus the parallel beam. In case that a half mirror is used as reflex mirror 18, the length of lens 16 should be (n/4)lambda [(n); integer].
