Solubility: solbule in methanol, ethanol, etc.; slightly soluble in benzene and water; insoluble in ethyl ether, petroleum ether, etc.
USE: Antitumor agnets and antibacterials.
PROCESS: Strains of Micromonospora sp-KY11091 (FERM-P No.4458) are cultured at 25W40°C and pH4W10 in a liquid medium, and the objective substance is adsorbed on a nonionic porous resin, desorbed, and dissolved in water, and adsorbed on active carbon. The substance is then eluted with an organic solvent, e.g. acetone, and purified to give DC-11. The dose as an antitumor agent is preferably 0.1W 0.5mg/kg(man)/day.
